Calling all mom bosses! I decided that I wanted to get yall started with a list of 10 things that every mompreneur needs to be successful. I also linked to things so if you have no idea where to start, I got ya started. The best part is that the last two items come with cashback! It’s a literal win-win!
1. Motivational Items
I have always thrived when I am surrounded by motivation. There are motivational videos you could watch and of course, you have your family and friends but it’s something about having constant motivation posted that sends such a great feeling. I thought this motivational calendar was super cute and it wouldn’t take up too much space on a desk or wherever you do your work. You do not have to choose a motivational calendar. You could make a collage of what motivates you, turn your favorite quote into wall art, or even just a picture that motivates you, like your family.
2. Wall Calendar
I think wall calendars are super beneficial because you can just be walking around, take a quick glance, and know what is happening for the month. I use my wall calendar to just list major events like birthdays, deadlines, and important holidays. This dry erase wall calendar is aesthetically pleasing, can be reused, and is similar in size to the one that I have at home.
3. Planner
Your planner is going to be more specific than your wall calendar. You can put in your specific hours and appointments or whatever your unique schedule is. I have recently started using a bullet journal and am honestly in love. I can honestly say that I was guilty of buying 2-4 planners each year and never finishing them. I was tired of that so I decided to try a bullet journal and it has been so fun and useful. If you don’t want to put in the time to make your journal, just buy a premade planner from the store! Just don’t buy more than one for no reason like I did (LOL). The planner that I am currently using was gifted to me so I can’t link it but this set is a super great deal for someone who wants to start bullet journaling.
4. File Folder
Before my son was born, I bought an accordion folder to keep all of our important documents in. It has been the most useful thing that I bought for him. Doctor visit papers, birth certificates, Wrigley’s and Dito’s immunization records. All of this important stuff is neatly organized into a file folder and when I need something, I can just open it up and grab what I need. This is just as important for your business! Why deal with scattered papers when you can organize them and save yourself the stress. I am currently on the hunt for a larger file folder and I found this one and am definitely going to order it and give it a try,
5. Mompreneur T-Shirt
I think this one is self-explanatory. Why miss out on cute photo-ops? This shirt is super comfortable, cute, and goes with different styles. Click here to head over to my shop and get yourself the cutest t-shirt you’ll have in your wardrobe.
6. A Routine
Having a routine in place is so crucial, especially when you have kids. I don’t call it a schedule because things can’t always go by a schedule. We have kids, things happen, and we have to pivot all of the time. Having a routine helps to keep you accountable for everything you need to accomplish. For me, a routine really helps me not to slack off when I am supposed to be working. Find a routine that works for you and stick to it; you will see a difference in your work ethic.
7. Patience & Faith
Things. Take. Time.
8. Computer
Let’s be honest, there are so many things that we can do on our phones nowadays and it is crucial to have a phone. As amazing as our phones are, there are still some things that we need computers for. Sometimes, I can work more efficiently on my computer than on my phone because there are fewer distractions.
9. Printer
If you don’t have a printer in your home, don’t panic. There are so many places you can go to print what you need: FedEx, the library, etc. I will say that it is more convenient to have a printer in your home. I have the HP Deskjet 3637 but I do not see it on their site anymore. This printer is the closest match to mine and it is just so great and super easy to install. A plus about shopping at HP is that they offer 2% cash back through Rakuten. If you sign up with my link, you will get $30 after you spend $30; that is easy when you’re shopping for a printer!.
10. A Camera
Again, our phones are literally AMAZING. I have seen commercials that were shot on iPhones before! I always think it’s good to invest in a good phone but having a good camera will take you much farther. I have the Canon EOS M50. With a DSLR, you are able to capture professional photos of yourself, your products, and whatever else your business entails. If you are running a blog like I am, you want to make sure you are using super clear pictures because they are more pleasing to look at and sometimes, the cameras on our phones just don’t do enough.
I hope that this list helped you channel your inner mom boss! I am always rooting for you and will always be there to tell you, “There is plenty for you in this world.” If you have any essentials that aren’t listed here, make sure to leave a comment so we can all share! Remember to sign up with Rakuten if you haven’t already! Always looking to save yall some dinero. Love you lots!
