I have to be honest, I am STILL buying things and making my apartment what I want it to be and we have been living here for almost two years! I want to tell you guys about something that still brings me so much joy to this day: my living room rug! It is the best rug to have with kids…and pets! Can we please enjoy this super cute picture of Wrigley on the rug?! He rolled ALL OVER IT as soon as I rolled it out.

My entire apartment is hardwood except for the bedrooms. We spend a lot of time in the living room and I knew I wanted a good rug that would work for Wrigley and our newborn who would be doing tummy time on the floor. I searched everywhere and I just didn’t find anything that I really liked. I kept seeing commercials for this company called Ruggable.
It was intriguing to hear that these rugs were machine-washable. Yes, you read that right. Ruggable makes rugs that can be put into the washing machine. How AMAZING is that?! I was in denial about it and I guess my way to prove it or not was to buy a rug and hope for the best. I know, not the best way; I should have just looked at the reviews.
My Rug
Let me tell you, I am glad that I made the crazy decision that I made. I got the Mickey Trellis Slate Rug because I wanted something cute and almost childish enough to have something for my son. I felt like my apartment was very “grown-up” and did not feel like a space for a baby so I thought this rug was perfect. It was super easy to install. They have plenty of how-to videos on their website and is literally so easy to set up.
The rug fits right into the flow of our living room and it literally is so easy to layout from the box. Between my son spitting up, painting, and Wrigley’s hair, I soon noticed that it was time to test how washable this rug was.
We took the rug, along with the rest of my laundry, to my mom’s house. She has a normal washer that you would see in anyone’s home. I took my regular detergent and my 5×7 Mickey rug and threw them into the washer. That thing came out of the washer brand-spanking-new! I accidentally dried it and I don’t think you’re supposed to but it was fine. It passed the washable test (and dryable test but not recommended)!
Pricing & Savings

I have to be honest, this rug cost a little more than I wanted to pay but after seeing how easy it was to clean, I realized this was a reasonable price. I paid $239 before taxes for this rug and I am honestly not sure if this is expensive or the average price for rugs but I am cheap so I thought it was expensive. I save so much money by being able to just throw my rug in the washer. If you want to save even more money, Rakuten gives you 2% cashback on Ruggable’s website. Make sure to sign up with my referral link and earn $30 after you spend $30! It’s literally a win-win for you!.
Let me know in the comments if you have a Ruggable rug! If so, which one do you have? I am looking into getting more once I buy a home.
Great post! and so so so cute!!
Great recommendation 🙂 I have a tufted couch and I never realized how easily it’s destroyed by curious toddler hands. I always thought a great blog post would be top 5 things you shouldn’t buy if planning on having kids – lol!
